The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) is virtually hosting the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit (CTIS) from 13 – 14 September 2021. The Summit will bring together governments and senior business leaders from across the Commonwealth to focus on rebuilding economies following the Covid-19 pandemic and identifying new trade opportunities through modern financial services and improved sustainable business practices.
REEEP’s Director General Magdalena Kouneva will participate in the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit, where she will discuss on “A Sustainable Future: “De-Carboning the Economy and the Race for Renewables” on Monday, 13 September from 13:00 – 15:00 BST.
The discussion will involve high-level representatives from REEEP, the Commonwealth Trade & Investment Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade & Immigration of Antigua and Barbuda, People’s Majlis, Maldives, UK Climate Investments LLP and the Premier of Queensland, Australia.
Sustainability is at the forefront of everyone’s mind as we approach COP26 and combating climate is an urgent global challenge. The panel discussion will explore the potential of innovative clean technology in making economies more sustainable, the value of global green energy generation in reducing reliance on fossil fuels, how governments can develop coherent policies to encourage the transition to renewable energy and how businesses can grow sustainably.
