GOGLA and REEEP join forces to strengthen the agri-energy nexus

REEEP is excited to announce a new partnership with GOGLA, the global association for the off-grid solar energy industry. This collaboration marks a strategic step forward in our shared mission to accelerate access to clean, affordable energy solutions that support agri-food value chains and climate resilience in the Global South. It is built on years of cooperation on off-grid energy access and has recently expanded as both organisations’ aim to advance the productive use of renewable energy (PURE).

By combining efforts, we aim to amplify advocacy, deepen sector knowledge and unlock new opportunities for collaboration and innovation at the intersection of agriculture and renewable energy. This partnership will generate joint initiatives, shared insights and greater visibility for the transformative work happening in the agri-energy space.

Targeting this nexus, REEEP has just opened the Call for Proposals for the PURE Growth Fund in Tanzania, which will provide EUR 2.5 million of incentive capital, technical assistance and policy engagement to support the sustainable growth of clean energy SMEs and agribusinesses.

Together, GOGLA and REEEP will align with other members of the Agri-Energy Coalition – a new initiative formed by several leading organisations and foundations working to accelerate the uptake of off-grid solar solutions in food systems – on advocacy and communication strategies, identify strategic opportunities for knowledge sharing and organise joint sessions and digital events at major sector gatherings, such as raising the profile of clean energy’s role in food systems at the upcoming African Food Systems Forum (AFSF) in Senegal.

The partnership also aims to engage key ministries and stakeholders to build support for Agri-Energy initiatives, while leveraging GOGLA’s Community of Champions platform to expand influence and visibility across the ecosystem.
