From the field to the market stall, renewable energy is changing how Africa grows, stores and sells its food. At this year’s Global Off-Grid Solar Forum & Expo (GOGSFE), REEEP and our partners in the Agri-Energy Coalition are bringing the energy-water-agriculture-nutrition nexus to one of the energy community’s premiere events. Join us for four days of sessions, side events and evening receptions and you can walk through poductive use of renewable energy (PURE) in action at our exhibition booth.

This year’s programme brings together partners from across the Coalition: Energy Saving Trust (EST), REEEP, GOGLA, SNV, Open Capital, Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), BASE, Practical Action, the Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP), World Resources Institute (WRI), the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), PREO, Mercy Corps, SEforALL, Agsol, CLASP, EEP Africa and Welthungerhilfe (WHH).

GOGSFE is co-organised by GOGLA and the World Bank’s Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP). It is where the off-grid sector meets, and we are putting PURE at the centre of the conversation. In particular we are driving the Putting Solar to Work track, where REEEP and our Coalition partners host a whole series of events.

Where to find us

The Coalition booth at the Kigali Convention Centre is open throughout the Forum, from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 October [booth number]. Across 54 square metres, it takes you on a walk-through journey along the agri-food value chain, with PURE technologies and services showing at every step how clean energy improves efficiency and adds value.

Immerse yourself in the agri-food value chain. Trace maize, dairy, cabbage, fish, passionfruit and coffee to see where renewable energy powers food systems, from solar irrigation in the field to cooling, drying and milling after harvest.

Visit the service desk. Meet SMEs supported by Coalition members and learn about their products and services.

Catch a live demo. Drop in to info sessions featuring technology demonstrations from WRI and BASE.
