About the event:

Co-organised by REEEP and its partners from the Vienna Energy Club. Meeting the UN 2030 Agenda and Paris Agreement ambitions poses the challenge of reaching net zero emissions by mid-century. This calls for flexible, enabling policy and regulatory frameworks, the emergence of new business models, and a complete redesign of our energy systems within the next thirty years to enable a just and inclusive energy transition.

The VEC members will address each of the three SDG7 targets and provide their unique insights and experiences in this high-level panel discussion on the role of innovation in a net-zero emissions energy transition.

About the event:

This side event is organised in collaboration with Sweden, Denmark, Nefco and REEEP.

The panel will look at how off-grid electrification can be incentivised and explore financing opportunities for the private sector. Results from the piloting programme in Zambia will also be presented.

Registered delegates can take part in the virtual discussions via the COP26 platform, and the event will be livestreamed on YouTube for public viewing.
