Accelerating the Global Energy Transition
For over twenty years, REEEP has been advancing the deployment of reliable and affordable clean energy solutions in low- and middle-income countries for the benefit of last-mile customers and the most vulnerable populations.
At the core of REEEP's approach lies a comprehensive blend of financial instruments, capacity building, facilitation of stakeholder cooperation and technical assistance. We identify market needs to develop and implement programmes which bridge financing and knowledge gaps, enabling private sector players to operate successfully in frontier markets. We work closely with stakeholders across the public and private sectors to ensure holistic programme design and implementation rooted in local needs, decreasing risk in clean energy investment and driving long-lasting ecosystem change.
Once proven successful, these initiatives can be scaled up and replicated across multiple markets. Our small size means we are able to innovate, adapt and create at a speed and flexibility unmatched by larger organisations.

In the 20 years since REEEP was launched, we have gained deep experience and understanding of market development, evolving a unique approach to achieving sustainable impact. Our goals are to:

Expertise in Fund Management
REEEP has managed over EUR 60 million in public funds through core funding and programmatic activities with contributions from the Governments of Austria, Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and the EU, as well as from international organizations and international financial institutions such the World Bank, UNIDO and NEFCO.

Meeting of Members
The Meeting of Members is the assembly of all REEEP Members, which is convened by the Governing Board and held at least once every two years. It is presided over by the Chair of the Governing Board. Amongst other functions, the MoM approves the final financial accounts, adopts the four-year strategy, decides on amendments of the Statutes and elects the Governing Board.

Governing Board
REEEP’s Governing Board is responsible for the conduct of business in accordance with REEEP Statutes and holds office for a period of four years. The Governing Board develops and oversees key strategic direction; adopts the annual budget; establishes annual accounts; and guides the operations of REEEP’s International Secretariat.

REEEP is a unique partnership to accelerate the energy transition in low- and middle-income countries. It contributes to concrete implementation on the ground, supports vulnerable populations and helps to achieve the Paris Agreement and the SDGs.
