The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership develops innovative, efficient financing mechanisms to strengthen markets for clean energy services in low- and middle-income countries, for the benefit of vulnerable populations.
Using strategic injections of public funding, REEEP mobilises private investment to advance market readiness for clean energy services in low- and middle-income countries. Our aims are to expand energy access, improve lives and economic opportunities, build sustainable markets, and combat climate change.
REEEP's work is made possible by a community of generous donors who share our strong believe in catalysing clean energy markets for green growth. Currently we are funded primarily by sovereign governments, multilateral groups and international organizations, and are enhancing our collaboration with globally active foundations in the space.
REEEP's Governance comprises two bodies: the Governing Board and the Meeting of Members. We also have an Advisory Board, which provides high-level strategic guidance.
REEEP Legal Status
REEEP’s legal status under Austrian law is that of Quasi-International Organization (QuIO), a category of international organization introduced in 2015 to accommodate international organizations with multi-stakeholder institutional structures similar to those of inter-governmental organizations.
