Energy is the world's most important industry - our food and water systems depend on it for a start - but unfortunately the old model of fossil fuel and traditional biomass use has proved to be harmful. We need to hurry up with the transition to a system that befits the 21st century, with universal access to clean forms of modern energy. What's exciting to me about REEEP is that its networks encompass many people who are actually making that happen.

James Smith is an experienced strategic planner, project developer and facilitator in the social and environmental entrepreneurship space.  He has worked as a consultant for REEEP since 2004, facilitating face-to-face meetings and workshops, supporting senior management on strategy development and leading stakeholder engagement for specific projects.

James is the co-founder and former Chief Executive of the School for Social Entrepreneurs in the UK, and co-founder of Unltd: the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs He also provides strategic consultancy to social and environmental purpose organisations via Monkey Mosaic Ltd. He has a Law degree from Cambridge University.
