Solar West Africa 2013 is Africa’s premier International Exhibition and Conference for the development and implementation of Solar Technology. It establishes an ideal platform to source new business, explore new opportunities and stimulate this emerging technology in West Africa.

Solar - a technology for Africa
As a clean, sustainable and renewable energy option, solar technology offers a practical, reliable and cost effective path for households, businesses, factories, schools, local and central government, as well as communities, industrial sites, regions and entire cities. Many African countries receive an average of 325 days per year of bright sunlight. This gives solar power the potential to bring energy to virtually any location in Africa without the need for expensive large scale grid level infrastructural developments.
The distribution of solar resources across Africa is fairly uniform, with more than 80 percent of their landscape receiving almost 2000 kWh per square meter per year. A recent study indicates that a solar generating facility covering just 0.3% of the area comprising North Africa could supply all the energy required by the European Union! Continuing development in solar energy is bringing down the initial and ongoing costs of solar echnology dramatically, making it a recognised way forward on energy policy.
The conference
This event offers the chance to meet new and existing business contacts, and to influence decision makers from local and central government, industry, and production and service industries. Solar West Africa 2013 will act as a catalyst for opening up this exciting new market.
Solar West Africa is endorsed by Ghana's Ministry of Energy.
