We are excited to participate in the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF), which will be held virtually from 14th to 18th June 2021. The event will bring key political and business players to exchange experiences and discuss ways to build a clean energy future for Asia.
As part of a high-level panel, REEEP's Director General Magdalena Kouneva will share her expertise and insights on the possibility of "Net Zero Emissions by mid-21st Century - Is it Possible for Asia and the Pacific?" during the Opening Plenary on 15th June.
As the world copes with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and pursues recovery plans to rebuild and invigorate economies, the ACEF Opening Plenary aims to:
- Present an overview of the status of energy transition in Asia and the Pacific.
- Look into the challenges facing Asia and the Pacific countries as they pursue green recovery strategies.
- Discuss the possibility of the region achieving carbon neutrality by mid-century, and its implications.
The panel discussion on the "Net Zero Emissions by mid-21st Century - Is it Possible for Asia and the Pacific?" will discuss the efforts needed to pave a realistic pathway towards carbon neutrality, as achieving it requires concrete long-term road maps and time-bound actions.
