G-STIC is a series of conferences that aim to accelerate the development, dissemination and deployment of technological innovations that enable the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is organised annually by five non-profit research and technology institutions, including TERI from India and ACTS from Kenya.

REEEP's Director General Martin Hiller will be taking part in discussions on the topic of Energy Positive Communities. Twelve out of seventeen Sustainable Development Goals are directly related to energy, yet 13% of the world population still lack access to electricity. The Energy Positive Communities stream at G-STIC 2018 shifts the focus from centralised energy systems to explore the importance of neighbourhoods, villages, districts and cities that are actively involved in the development of their own energy system based on renewable energy, and integrated in the broader energy system.
Registration is now open on the website. Discounts are available to those who book early (1% per day before the conference), PhD students and attendees from low-income countries.
