Renewable energy entrepreneurs who are citizens of a country in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are invited to apply to participate in an eight-day training programme for solar photovoltaic (PV) entrepreneurship starting on 18 November 2013. The programme – conducted as part of a joint initiative between the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) – consists of three days of practical training in an ECOWAS country followed by five days of site visits.
This workshop is part of the initiative for “Promoting a Sustainable Market for Photovoltaic (PV) Systems in the ECOWAS Region” (ProSPER), which aims to support the development of a sustainable market for both on- and off-grid PV applications by strengthening the capacities of local policymakers, regulators and utilities, financial institutions, trainers from educational or research institutions, and renewable energy entrepreneurs.
