Speed Brokering hits Rio+20

Representatives from NGOs, clean energy businesses, academia and government spent two hours rotating through 12 seven-minute “speed dating” style interviews with new business contacts at REEEP's tenth anniversary event in Rio. The seven minutes ticked off with a clock on the screen, and music with a heavy beat signalled time to change.

Hande wins 2011 Magsaysay Award

Harish Hande, the co-founder of SELCO Solar Light Pty. Ltd has been named one of the five individuals and one organisation to win the 2011 Ramon Magsaysay Award. Established in 1957, this award is Asia’s highest honor and is widely regarded as the region’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize.

Brazil-Mozambique tech transfer of high-value crops: 3 REEEP-funded projects work together

In a prime example of south-south tech transfer, three interrelated REEEP-funded projects have succeeding in transferring a Brazilian model for helping subsistence farmers out of poverty to Mozambique.

REEEP calls for project proposals in new €4.5 million 8th funding cycle

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) has opened its 8th programme cycle with a call for proposed clean energy projects targeting Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and South Africa. The Partnership expects to fund approximately 30 projects with €4.5 million contributed by the Governments of the United Kingdom and Norway. The level of funding available per project has been increased by 50% to €150,000.
